About the Sprinticity classic
There were several key objectives when Kevin Chu and Tor Dworshak founded Sprinticity in 2014. One of the ideas was to not only to train Vermont athletes to compete at a high level, but to also bring high level competition to Vermont. The Sprinticity Classic represents the pursuit of that objective. Each year, the participation has grown and we are seeing athletes come from farther and farther away. This year, we are hosting an open meet and youth meet on the same day to bring together more members of the track and field community.
Frank H. Livak Track and Field Facility
The Frank H. Livak Track was named after the former Catamount cross country and track & field standout. The facility is the home of the UVM men’s and women’s track and field teams, as well as a popular place for students and other UVM community members to exercise.
The track consists of a nine-lane, fully poured polyurethane surface, and includes a grass infield for javelin and discus events. An adjacent throwing area will be used for hammer throw and shot put training and competition. The facility also includes 2 multi-directional long jump and pole vault runways and pits, along with bleacher seating for 350 spectators.
